Who we are

Unique Mappers Network (UMT) is a dynamic NGO that unites humanitarian action with community development through mapping. Since its inception in 2017, UMT has focused on harnessing the power of open geospatial data to drive positive change across Nigeria and beyond. Through collaborative efforts, we create accessible map data crucial for disaster response, emergency management, research, and sustainable development, ultimately advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our Reach and Affiliations

Founded in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, UMT is a certified NGO (CAC/IT/No 153847). We are a recognized OpenStreetMap and HOT-USA local community, a SciStarter citizen science group, a GeoForAll lab for open-source geospatial education, and a corporate representative of GODAN Canada. Additionally, we operate as a Flying Lab in Nigeria, collaborating with African Bees and WeRobotics to advance drone technology for social impact.
