Community Resilience Mapping Through OpenStreetMap

Our flagship program utilizes OpenStreetMap (OSM) to empower communities in Nigeria by providing essential geospatial data. This initiative enhances disaster preparedness, supports urban planning, and builds resilience in vulnerable areas by mapping resources, infrastructure, and risk zones. Through OSM, we enable local citizens and organizations to respond effectively to natural and climate-related hazards.

Citizen Science Project/Community

We foster citizen science by encouraging community members to participate in scientific data collection and analysis for environmental monitoring, climate adaptation, and urban planning. Through hands-on projects, citizens gain skills and actively contribute to local and global scientific knowledge, creating a more informed and resilient society.

Flying Lab Project/Community

Open Geospatial

Our Open Geospatial initiative promotes the use of open-source geospatial tools for data visualization, mapping, and analysis. We provide training in platforms like QGIS and Google Earth Engine, equipping participants with the skills to leverage open data for informed decision-making and sustainable development.

Women/Youth Empowerment

UMT is committed to empowering women and youth through targeted training in mapping, GIS, and environmental stewardship. Our initiatives focus on developing digital and technical skills, creating career pathways in geospatial technology, and fostering leadership among underrepresented groups.

Unique Mappers GIS & Environmental Consultants LTD

This arm of UMT offers professional GIS consulting services to clients in government, academia, and private industry. We provide solutions for environmental monitoring, urban planning, and resource management, combining our expertise with a commitment to sustainability and community impact. Through consultancy, we support organizations in achieving their goals with data-driven insights and strategic planning.
